The fourth edition of West Africa's biggest musical concert, Ghana
Meets Naija will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre
on May 24, organizers say.
The concert, the brainchild of Empire Entertainment, is built on
celebrating, uniting and exploring the different, yet similar musical
tastes, cultures and artistes of both Ghana and Nigeria, and it has
never failed to deliver on that.
The Ghana Meets Naija concert is largely regarded as a musical
showdown aimed at answering the constantly nagging question as to who is
supreme between Ghana and Nigeria - two countries whose musical trends
have continuously influenced and rivaled each other.
Over the years, the concert has seen some of West Africa's biggest
music acts including Wizkid, M.I., Tiwa Savage, R2Bees, Samini, Kwaw
Kese, Guru, 4x4, and Timaya thrilling thousands of patrons.
This year's won't be different as organizers have once again lined up
an impressive list of chart toppers from Ghana and Nigeria to continue
the tradition of staging a memorable show.
Artistes confirmed for this year's edition include a repertoire of
West Africa's best including Sarkodie, Guru, Castro and Lilwin,
representing Ghana while Davido, Kcee and Wizboyy of 'Wizolingo' fame
will represent Nigeria.Organizers have told Myjoyonline.com that thlis is just a provisional
list of acts for the concert and that more acts who have been signed for
the mammoth concert will be announced in the coming days.
